Excellent Gardening Assistant Opportunity – Surrey | Private Estate Role
Location: Surrey, UK
Salary: Negotiable
We are pleased to present an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hardworking Gardening Assistant to join a prestigious private estate in Surrey. This is a full-time, newly created role offering the chance to work within a beautifully maintained large-scale property, supporting the Head Gardener in the ongoing care and development of the grounds.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the estate to an exceptional standard. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position requiring a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for horticulture and outdoor work. You will be involved in a wide range of gardening duties, contributing to the overall presentation and upkeep of the estate throughout the seasons.
Responsibilities will include general garden maintenance such as planting, pruning, weeding, lawn care, and seasonal tasks, alongside supporting larger landscaping or improvement projects as required. You will work closely with the Head Gardener, assisting with daily operations and ensuring that all areas of the estate are maintained with attention to detail and care.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a professional private estate environment. While previous experience working on a private estate is desirable, candidates currently working within garden maintenance or landscaping roles for contractors—particularly those servicing high-end private gardens—will also be considered. A strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a proactive approach are essential.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, physically fit, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You should take pride in your work, demonstrate attention to detail, and be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. A positive attitude and the ability to follow instruction while also showing initiative will be highly valued.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, offering a stable and structured schedule within a supportive and professional environment. The role also includes additional benefits, with salary negotiable depending on experience.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Gardening Assistant to join a high-calibre private estate in Surrey, with the potential for long-term development and progression within a respected horticultural setting.
