We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced live-in Housekeeper/Cook to join a household located in Mayfair, London. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the residence, managing laundry and wardrobe care, and preparing delicious meals for the Principals. This is a full-time, live-in position requiring flexibility and attention to detail. The property is a secondary residence so the client only visits 3-4 times a year.
Job Description:
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including but not limited to cleaning and tidying all living spaces, bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas,
- Dusting, polishing, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and organisation of the residence,
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are stocked and well-maintained,
- Handle delicate items and antiques with care,
- Manage all laundry duties, including washing, ironing, folding, and organising clothes and linens,
- Handle delicate and designer clothing with the utmost care, following specific instructions for each garment,
- Maintain the wardrobe inventory, ensuring clothes are arranged neatly and ready for use,
- Prepare daily meals for the Principals adhering to their dietary preferences and requirements,
- Plan menus and shop for groceries, and maintain an inventory of kitchen,
- Ensure that all meals are presented and served to the highest standards,
- Coordinate with other household staff to ensure smooth operations.
Role Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a live-in Housekeeper/Cook in a similar high-end or private household,
- Excellent knowledge of various cleaning techniques and high standards of cleanliness,
- Strong Asian cooking skills with a diverse repertoire of recipes and the ability to cater to different dietary needs,
- Familiarity with household appliances and equipment,
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in managing household tasks,
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills,
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written,
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends when required.
