The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall presentation, cleanliness, and smooth day-to-day running of a beautifully maintained home. This is a hands-on role requiring a meticulous eye for detail, a proactive approach, and the ability to manage tasks independently while maintaining discretion at all times.
Daily responsibilities will include thorough cleaning and upkeep of all living spaces, ensuring the home is presented to an exceptional standard. You will also oversee regular deep cleaning schedules, particularly when the Principals are travelling, and take great care when handling valuable items such as antiques, fine furnishings, silverware, and delicate materials.
Laundry and wardrobe management will form a key part of the role. This includes washing, pressing, steaming, and organising garments to the highest standards, as well as maintaining an orderly and well-presented wardrobe. A strong understanding of garment care, including luxury fabrics and designer pieces, is highly desirable.
In addition to core housekeeping duties, the live-in luxury housekeeper will be confident liaising with contractors, tradespeople, and external service providers when required. You should be capable of taking initiative, managing household tasks efficiently, and ensuring any maintenance or external work is completed to a high standard.
The ideal candidate will have a warm, positive, and professional manner, with the ability to integrate seamlessly into a private household. Flexibility is essential, as you will be required to live in the property when the Principals are travelling, ensuring continuity of care and security for the home.
This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend support may be required; however, ample notice will be provided, and time off in lieu will be offered. Due to the location, a driving licence and access to a vehicle would be preferred.
To be considered, candidates must have a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar private household role, along with excellent spoken English and the legal right to work in the UK.
